Outreach in Mongolia

For the last 6 months 40 Russian brothers and sisters including myself have been preparing  for 2 weeks outreach in 5 biggest towns (Ulistai, Ulangom, Altai, Hovd and Bulgan) in the Western Mongolia. So on July 16, 2019 we went to conduct 5 camps for more than 650 kids in 5 biggest cities in Western Mongolia. We shared the Gospel, sow a seed of Christian faith in the lives of Mongolian kids and helped Russian believers to have a broader perspective on missions, as they pray and go to other countries around the world to preach the Gospel.

Last year was the first time I went to Mongolia and since that time Mongolian people have a special part in my heart.

My goal is to help start YL clubs across Western Mongolia. Please pray God would mobilize Mongolian Christians to take an initiative to reach their young generation and many would hear the Gospel and what it means to be disciple of Jesus Christ

Online ministry

This year God led me to have many conversations online with various people. One man named Yuri (57 years old) who sent an e-mail criticizing Christian faith, proudly stated he had reached the high level of spirituality and Christians are short minded as they never truly researched eastern religions and modern philosophies. He also mentioned being involved in the occult and having good friendships with leaders of Orthodox church on a Sahalin island, where he lives.

My supervisor suggested not to write to this man as he just wanted to argue. God put on my heart to continue to correspond with Yuri as he had many questions about faith, church and spirituality. After few months of corresponding he said he never really studied the Gospel but now he wants to read it. Please pray for Yuri for the Lord reveal the truth about Himself as well as show Yuri’s sinful heart and the need in the Saviour.

Camps in remote villages of Siberia

This year God has allowed me to be part  of 5  2 camps in remote villages – Uyar and Kiyai. Krasnoyarsk region is one the biggest regions in Russia with population over 4 mln. people. Our vision is to conduct Bible lessons for kids every week throughout the year in as many remote villages of Krasnoyarsk region as we possibly can(there are about 1474 villages total).

The idea for these camps is to have 5 day camp, make it fun for kids, connect and invite them for a Bible club which would start in September. Kids in villages lack many activities and often don’t know what to do during the summer holidays. We have a wonderful opportunity to play with them, do crafts, let them jump on trampoline, do sports and get to know them.  In Uyar in 3 days we met over 150 kids. In Kiyia we had about 80 kids. Please pray for these kids. Most of the kids in those villages heard about Jesus for the first time in their life.

Online Ministry

I continue to connect with young people online through the Russian version of http://www.Everystudent.com (www.mirsbogom.com & http://www.mirstudentov.com). I receive about 10 new e-mails every day. Here are some feedback from guys who wrote to me:

Voznesenka orphanage

As I continue to visit orphans in the village of Voznesenka. The challenge for this year was to drive in -44F degree weather in a frost-fog. No doubt kids were happy to see me. Next time when I came, a small boy named Sergey who is about 12 years after the Bible lesson asked me how he could pray to receive Jesus as his Lord and Saviour. I explained him how he could do it, but he insisted I write a prayer for him. So I did. This piece of paper became so special for Sergey, he showed it to everybody even to his teacher. Next time when I came I found out Sergey was taken back home. My prayer that the seeds of the Gospel would take root and one day Sergey would be in heaven, rejoicing that he had a chance to hear and make the decision to become the follower of Jesus. Because of your support and prayers I’m able to go to ophanages, spend time with kids, buy Children Bibles, board games and sport equipment for kids. Praise the Lord!

Pokrov Camp

There are 15 kids (from orphanages + poor families) you’ve helped us to send to our Christian camp «Pokrov» held in March this year. I’m very grateful  to the Lord and you for your open heart! May God bless you 1000 times more for your gifts!

As Russian government tries to control the religious freedom more than ever before it truly has became difficult to take kids out of the orphanages. Yet we rejoice for every kid whom we could take out of  the «prison» (I do believe children’s homes are like prisons for children) even for a short time and experience God’s love. The thought that God has not forgotten about them is very encouraging to me.

Here is a small testimony of  Dasha (first picture on your left): “I would like to say thank you, who helped me come to a Christian camp. The “Pokrov” camp played a big role in my life. I repented of my sins and became a Christian. I think it’s the most important! I liked the camp because there was a good atmosphere. It feels like we are all big family. We played together, did something together, made new friends, learnt new things about God. I liked it very much!”

Online Ministry

As you may know I’m very excited about reaching people online. Earlier this year I had a chance to go to CRU conference in Cyprus to meet various guys who do online ministry as well as to learn more about CRU Digital Strategy and how I can implement it in http://www.mirstudentov.com. Everyday I receive about 10 new e-mails from various people who curse me or ask good questions about God and faith. Here’s one good feedback I recently received from Alex: “Hi! Vitali I thank you for your help in getting spiritual support and lessons you sent me. By God’s grace I came back to the true path and have even better relationships with the Lord compare to the ones I had before. I’ve learnt to appreciate the relationship with Him and I don’t want to lose connection with Him again. I want to develop and strengthen this relationship. If you have other lessons on spiritual growth I would be happy to get them, as it is the bread for my spirit. Sorry for being silent for awhile, I had a problem with the internet. Alex.” Please pray for me as I try to minister to guys like Alex and encourage volunteers to help many people across Russia! Thank you!

Voznesenka & Bolshoi Ungut

This year God opened doors to travel to an orphanage in the village of Voznesenka and to the village in Bolshoi Ungut. Maksim is one of the boys from Voznesenka orphanage who come to my Bible lessons. He has a dream of becoming a builder to build houses. What I like about him is his desire to

learn more about God, heaven and faith. He always asks many questions. When I asked the children who of them think that God loves them he was the first who raised his hand and said that he really knows God loves him. He couldn’t explain why he was so certain, yet he had no doubt about it. Please pray for Maksim so his faith in God would be even stronger and one day he would make a decision to follow Christ.

When we come to villages or orphanages we try to give kids an opportunity to play sport, games or do crafts. Here are few photos of kids in the village of Bolshoi Ungut and their crafts activity after the Bible lesson. Please pray that the seed of the Gospel would take root in their hearts!

Christian winter camp – “Pokrov”

This year God has provided funds for 35 orphans and kids from poor families to go to a Christian camp «Pokrov»!

God always surprises me on how He provides. I was very excited about the camp, kids we had permission from the Orphanages to take (It is very difficult right now to take to the camp even 1 child from the orphanage). Our plan was to take 20 kids from the orphanage and 15 kids from very poor families. Just 2 days before the camp, our director Alexander received a phone call from social services who told him that if he would take the kids from the orphanage, his ministry and the ministry of the church would have many obstacles to the point that there won’t be any children ministry. Alexander prayed and also asked pastors of our church of what they thought he should do. Brothers prayed and made a mutual decision not to send orphans to the camp but instead send more kids from poor families.

In this case parents can say they are ok with the Bible lessons, Christian songs and Christian theme of the camp. We had to hurry and called many people to get the kids ready. As it turned out we were able to send 29 kids. Other 6 kids we would be able to go next time in the summer or in the winter.

This is a small feedback from Roman who had a chance among other kids to go to Pokrov this year in January: “I’m thankful to the people who paid for my trip to “Pokrov”. In the camp I met new friends. I liked sport, crafts, camp games, Bible lessons and very delicious food. I thank those who gave me a chance to come to this wonderful camp so I could hear the truths from the Bible. Roman”

I rejoice with you about the special day when our Saviour was born! I would like to wish you patience, love, forgiveness to people around you! Be the light in this world as Christ!

My prayer that our good deeds, words, attitude, smile, time spent be a touch from God to people around, so they would see Christ in us and would envy for the joy and peace God has given us!
